The generous philanthropy of our alumni and community, whether through advocacy, service or financial contributions, provides invaluable support to the University and its goals of helping solve local and global issues of scale and impact to diverse people, groups and communities.

Significant alumni philanthropic support and leveraged government funding has enabled the University to invest in major new developments over the past decade, such as the Global Change Institute that will enable UQ to provide research solutions to key global issues such as sustainable cities, food security, climate change, renewable energy, population health and the environment.

Philanthropists from the University's broad community of friends and alumni also support areas of teaching and learning and discovery through scholarships, bequests, endowments, professional chairs, and funding for research, cultural initiatives, technology and emerging needs.
