Setting up a scholarship or prize
There are many opportunities for individuals and corporations to provide scholarships and prizes for worthy students at UQ, to encourage academic achievement or help combat social disadvantage. The basis on which scholarships and prizes are awarded can be developed to meet the individual requirements of the donor.
Currently, the University suggests a minimum prize value for undergraduate students of $500 and a minimum scholarship amount of $5,000.
To maximise the exposure and familiarity of the award itself and provide appropriate recognition for the donor, it is recommended that prizes and scholarships be established wherever possible for a minimum of three years.
