Dear Friends
Since 1910, The University of Queensland has educated more than 170,000 students and has also become an international centre for research, attracting staff and students from across the world. Private philanthropy has helped transform UQ in recent decades and, with your support, we will continue to achieve our international teaching and research aspirations. Today I ask you to support UQ’s goals by making a gift to the Chancellor’s Fund Appeal.
One of our highest priorities is to increase the number of scholarships that UQ has available for potential students. Another key priority is supporting the work conducted by our research staff and, with strong community support, we can continue to provide the momentum to assist UQ's staff to address the issues facing people around the world. The University also places high priority on the capital campaign to relocate the School of Veterinary Science to UQ Gatton while maintaining its comprehensive links to UQ St Lucia.
This year the University has allocated a special fund to match first-time gifts, increasing the impact of your support to the area you choose. As a first-time donor to UQ, up to $150 of your 2008 gift will be matched dollar for dollar.
By supporting the 2008 Chancellor’s Fund Appeal you can make a real impact by giving directly to the people and programs that make a difference in the world.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Sir Llew Edwards AC
Chancellor
