Who is eligible to organise a UQ reunion?
Any alumnus of The University of Queensland can organise a reunion. Reunions can be based around class graduation anniversaries, particular calendar events, or may focus on alumni living in particular geographical areas.
Assistance from UQ
The UQ Alumni and Community Relations team within the UQ Advancement Office can advise and offer assistance to reunion organisers in the following ways:
* Contact missing alumni on your behalf;
* Update alumni contact details;
* Promote the reunion on the UQ Alumni and Community website, as well as in other alumni communication pieces;
* Advise UQ staff regarding reunion planning and marketing.
Faculty/schools can provide the following services for reunion organisers:
* Send invitations on behalf of reunion organisers;
* Provide reunion planning advice;
* Provide support and approval for the reunion;
* Promote reunion through faculty or school based communication channels.
Please note - reunions must be approved by the relevant Faculty, School or Department, and it is the responsibility of the reunion organisers to coordinate and fund the reunion event.
Privacy policy
Information regarding names and qualifications of alumni is in the public domain. All other information, including date of birth, address and other contact details, and history of financial transactions with the University, is protected under Queensland and Australian privacy laws. There are similar laws in many other countries and legislation governs data transactions crossing national boundaries. The tightening of privacy and data-protection legislation raises important concerns for any individual or group wishing to distribute information to a targeted recipient list. The Advancement Office can provide mailing information to University staff only, in compliance with this legislation.
